Kitchen Extension, St Judes Avenue, Belfast

This kitchen extension was designed to provide a modern contrast with the period elegance of this large Victorian townhouse. The new kitchen combines dining and sitting areas into a lively family space, the project also involved a new rear entrance, utility space and ground floor bathroom.

The use of reclaimed red brick was key to achieving a balance between this modern extension and its surroundings, another important design strategy placed two large sliding doors opposite each other allowing the feeling of space within the kitchen to expand to the full width of the property whilst engaging the external spaces eitherside.
