This new-build farmhouse for the Wilson family took inspiration from traditional elongated farm dwellings in the locality and addressed conflicts between a family home and a busy working farm. The house is arranged in an L shape to enclose a large south facing garden space for theĀ children to play away from farm traffic. Farm office facilities are accommodated within the single storey return and has a separate entrance away from the main house.
A large kitchen, dining and living space opens out to a raised terrace overlooking the garden. A separate sitting room completes the ground living accommodation with bedrooms and playroom on the first floor. Generous storage space was essential and the house contains a separate cloakroom, laundry, pantry, utility and linen room.
